Barbara Harris Para to New Horizons
Para passed away on June 2, 2015 after an airplane accident in her Beechcraft A – 36 Bonanza. The accident occurred
when Barbara and her husband Fred, serving as pilot of the flight, were flying to Silver City, NC for routine maintenance.
Barbara was only 69 when she died.
Barbra joined the Ninety-Nines in 1990 and served the organization in various positions, including Section Governor. She will be remembered for her love of flying, her civic-minded dedication to her community, her leadership,
and her commitment to mentoring others. Her loss will leave a void in our hearts and in our organization.
Her beloved 49 1/2, Fred, survived the accident and has had
multiple operations to repair his many broken bones. We wish him a speedy recovery.
Gone to New Horizons
Ruth Jenkins, an active member of the FL Goldcoast 99s Chapter
passed away. She usually attended meetings with Jim, her 49 1/2 husband, until his recent death. Ruth loved sharing
stories about her early flying adventures and she almost always wore avaition jewelry. She was a kind soul and we will
miss her dearly.
